Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

This policy covers the paid StudyVisaHub subscription. The published data on this site is free, needs no account and is not affected by anything on this page.

It forms part of our Terms of Use and should be read with section 5 of those terms.

1. The short version

  • Billing is monthly. There is no lock-in and no minimum term.
  • You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge.
  • Your access runs to the end of the month you have already paid for.
  • We do not refund part of a month you have already used, unless the service failed.
  • If the service failed, you have rights under the Australian Consumer Law that this policy cannot take away. Section 5 sets them out.

2. Cancelling

You can cancel whenever you like, for any reason, without telling us why. Where you signed up online you can cancel online, in the same number of steps it took to sign up. There is no notice period, no exit fee and no cancellation form to wait on.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you have paid for. Up to that date the seat keeps working exactly as it did. After that date it stops, and we do not charge you again.

Until self-service cancelling is built, email info@mediamantra.com.au and we will action it. We treat the date you send that email as the date you cancelled, not the date we get around to it.

3. What happens to the money already paid

A month you have already started is not refunded on a pro-rata basis. If you cancel on the twentieth day of a month you have paid for, you keep the seat until the end of that month and we do not refund the remaining days. This is the ordinary position for a monthly subscription with no lock-in: the reason there is no minimum term is that each month stands on its own.

That position does not apply, and you may be entitled to a refund of part or all of what you paid, where:

  • the service failed, in the sense described in section 5;
  • you were charged after you cancelled, or charged twice, or charged an amount you had not been told about;
  • we changed the price without giving you at least 30 days notice first;
  • we withdrew something a seat included and what you paid for was materially reduced.

In each of those cases we refund to the original payment method, in Australian dollars, and we do not ask you to accept credit instead of money.

4. Billing mistakes

If we charge you in error, we refund it in full. That includes a charge after cancellation, a duplicate charge, and a charge at a price we had not told you about. Tell us and we will fix it. You do not need to rely on this policy to do that, and you do not need to argue about it.

5. If the service fails

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this policy or in our Terms of Use excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees.

In plain terms, if there is a major failure with the service, you can cancel the subscription and ask for a refund of the unused part, or keep it and ask for compensation for the drop in value. A failure is major when it is something you would not have subscribed for had you known about it in advance, when the service is substantially unfit for the purpose it is sold for and cannot be made fit within a reasonable time, or when it is unsafe.

If the problem is not a major failure, you can ask us to fix it within a reasonable time. If we do not, or cannot, you can cancel and ask for a refund of the unused part, or have the problem fixed elsewhere and recover the reasonable cost from us.

Two things this section does not cover, because they are not failures of the service:

  • The result of a visa or nomination decision. We publish what government data records about decisions already made. A seat does not buy a prediction, and no outcome for any person is promised anywhere on this site or in this subscription.
  • A change in the underlying government data. Source agencies revise, restate and republish their own figures. When they do, our pages change with them and we show the issuer and the date. That is the service working, not failing.

6. How to ask for a refund

Email info@mediamantra.com.au with the email address on the account, the date of the charge, and what went wrong. You do not need a particular form of words.

We acknowledge every request within 2 business days and give you a decision, in writing, within 10 business days. If we decide against a refund we tell you why, in writing, and we tell you that you can take it further. Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method.

7. If you are not satisfied with our answer

Come back to us first and say so, because most of these are misunderstandings and we would rather fix them. If that does not resolve it, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission publishes guidance on consumer rights at accc.gov.au, and your state or territory consumer protection agency can help with a dispute.

If you dispute a charge with your bank or card provider instead, that is your right and we will not treat it as a breach of the terms. It helps us if you tell us at the same time, so we can look at what happened.

8. The pilot

Pilot seats are free. No card is taken and nothing is charged, so nothing on this page about refunds applies to a pilot seat. A pilot seat simply ends, and we tell you before it does.

9. Contact

Billing, cancellation and refund questions: info@mediamantra.com.au. We reply within 2 business days, Brisbane time.
